Who’s Tracking You? Use This New Service to Find Out:

It can be daunting to determine who’s responsible for showing ads on the websites we visit, or who’s harvesting data from the mobile apps we use every day. That information is already semi-public, but it is not easily parsed and traditionally much of it has remained walled away in the hands of large advertising platforms. Not anymore: A powerful and free new service called DecryptAds scrapes and correlates this adtech data and makes it simple to quickly learn a great deal about the entities that are tracking you.

Yesterday I thought it might be fun to get more into neovim — I’d downloaded and tried it a bit previously, and it seemed interesting.

Anyway, I went to its home page to see if I could learn something useful there, and I saw a DHH quote.

Tim Cook Says Goodbye as CEO:

Sending lots of love to the Apple community on my last day as CEO. My title changes tomorrow, but the love I have for the Apple community never will. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. My gratitude is endless, and I’m excited for the next chapter!

This followed an “internal” memo in which he wrote:

The Ternus Era Has Begun:

Today is September 1, 2026 — the day that John Ternus becomes CEO of Apple.

As you would assume, Apple has now updated its executives page with Ternus as CEO, along with a refreshed profile for him.

I wanted to note three narratives that I spotted in this profile that I think tell the story of the kind of CEO he wants to be, and how Apple wants to communicate this to us. All three of these are very interesting to me.
